Terms of Service

Last updated: April 23, 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using CAD Helper ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License

CAD Helper grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these terms. You do not own the Software — you are granted permission to use it.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Software or any part of it
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the Software to develop a competing product

4. Accounts

You must create an account to use CAD Helper. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Managed access requires a paid subscription or operates within free-tier limits. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel at any time through the Stripe billing portal. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

6. API key usage (BYOK)

If you use your own Anthropic API key, you are responsible for all usage and costs associated with that key. CAD Helper is not liable for charges incurred through your API key.

7. SolidWorks automation

CAD Helper can generate and execute scripts inside SolidWorks via its COM API. Scripts are always shown to you before execution and require your explicit approval. You are responsible for reviewing scripts before running them. CAD Helper is not liable for any damage to your CAD files, models, or data caused by executed scripts.

8. Intellectual property

The Software, including all code, design, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Robert Dubois. All rights reserved. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership rights to you.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. AI-generated responses and automation scripts may contain errors.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CAD Helper and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Software, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to CAD files.

11. Changes to terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
